For the residents of Flovilla and Jenkinsburg, the adjustment is temporary—just for this year's November elections, according to the notice. Voters from these areas who usually attend their local polling stations will instead need to visit the Butts County Administration Building at 625 W. Third Street, Suite 5 in Jackson, GA to fulfill their civic duty. The information was made public through an online notice by the county's election authorities.
In the City of Jackson, the change is more lasting. Voters from Jackson must adjust to a new permanent polling location, departing from the previous site at the Butts County Recreation Department on Ernest Biles Drive. Their votes, moving forward, will be submitted at the same centralized address provided to their neighbors in Flovilla and Jenkinsburg, solidifying the Butts County Administration Building as a new electoral hub.
All affected voters can expect to receive updated precinct cards by mail, ensuring they are informed of the new locations well in advance of the elections.
