Police responded to a shooting on the 6500 block of Thalia Way in Citrus Heights at around 9:24 p.m. last Saturday. Officers found an adult male who had been shot multiple times. They attempted to provide aid, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, as reported by the Citrus Heights Police Department.
Police identified 55-year-old Victor Bubliyenko of Citrus Heights as the primary suspect in a shooting. Investigators determined that the suspect and victim knew each other, but the nature of their relationship has not been disclosed. The victim's identity is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification. This is the second homicide in Citrus Heights this year, as stated by the Citrus Heights Police Department.
The Citrus Heights Police Department is still investigating the homicide and is asking the public for information. According to the Citrus Heights Police Department on their Facebook page, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office and Folsom Police Department assisted with the arrest, securing the area, and the ongoing investigation.
