The City of Surprise is currently seeking sponsors for a notable event on the fall calendar—the Surprise Area Interfaith & Golden Rule Community Breakfast scheduled for September 16, 2025. The breakfast, according to a statement obtained by the official city website, is a convocation that welcomes everyone and honors the universal creed that is the Golden Rule—treating others as one would wish to be treated oneself. It is an occasion that looks to "strengthen our community through mutual respect" and celebrate the shared values that bind the fabric of the city together.
Sponsorship levels are diverse, providing options for local organizations to actively to support and participate in this event, with the window for sponsorship remaining open until August 22, 2025. The official announcement highlights that this annual breakfast plays a crucial role in fostering dialogue and collaboration amongst city, faith, business, and nonprofit leaders. Surprise has proudly been a Golden Rule Community since 2017, a title bestowed by the Arizona Interfaith Movement.
In sync with the breakfast is the 3rd annual Surprise Community Legend Awards, aiming to recognize local figures across various categories, including Individual Legend, Outstanding Youth, Volunteer of the Year, and Organization of the Year. These distinctions serve as testament to those who embody the spirit and practice of the Golden Rule within the Surprise community.
The event will take place at the Dysart Schools District Office at 15802 N. Parkview Pl. Beginning at 8 a.m. with an opportunity for breakfast and networking, the program will then officially kick off at 8:30 a.m. For those interested to know more or to become a sponsor, the point of contact is Kara Poling, reachable at 623.222.1647 or via email at [email protected].
