Calling all Collierville residents and park enthusiasts! The Town of Collierville has something special in store as it gears up for the ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the official opening of new Phase II improvements at Hinton Park. Scheduled for July 31, from the perfectly respectable hours of 10:00 AM to noon, the town is pulling out all the stops to ensure this is more than just a couple of snipped ribbons.
This cheerful morning event promises to keep families engaged with a slew of activities, including a spanking new playground that the kids probably won't want to leave, free MEMPops because, well, who doesn't like free stuff, and a disc golf clinic which should keep both the frisbee freaks and newbies entertained. With these additions, according to the Town of Collierville, Hinton Park is quickly transforming from a simple green space to a veritable community hub.
Besides injecting fresh life into the park, a new performing arts stage and pavilion are ready to roll out on the Performance Lawn. Perfect for future plays in the park or whatever outdoor extravaganza comes to mind. There's also a new walking trail for strolling enthusiasts that connects the park's lake to Fleming Road, meaning there's now more space for your pedometers to rack up the steps. And let's not forget the extra parking spaces, they've packed in more to save you the headache of circling the lot like a vulture.
