A coalition of Colorado police departments, in collaboration with the district attorney's office, has delivered a significant crackdown on a criminal organization dubbed the Tequila Sunset Enterprise. According to Boulder County, four individuals have been indicted under the Colorado Organized Crime Control Act (COCCA), with bonds ranging from $25,000 to $100,000.
The accused individuals, as named in the press release, include Tabor Jaramillo-Trujillo, Mason Grantham, Abram Valdez, and Isaiah Akridge, who were arrested with bonds of $100,000 each, except for Valdez who's currently held at $25,000; they are potentially facing up to twenty-four years in prison for their involvement in a spate of liquor store break-ins across Colorado. Emiley Webb was separately indicted with a bond set at $1,000 for providing false information to a pawnbroker; she could face a sentence of up to six years. The enterprise's activities have reportedly caused over $150,000 in thefts and more than $50,000 in property damage, thus weaving a tapestry of criminal endeavors that sprawled across various jurisdictions, including Arvada, Brighton, and Westminster.
These arrests have been heralded as a testament to interagency cooperation. "The Lafayette Police Department is proud to work alongside our partner agencies to ensure the safety of the Lafayette community," Lafayette Police Chief Rick Bashor stated, as per Boulder County, emphasizing the joint effort's success. Westminster Police Chief Norm Haubert echoed this sentiment, praising the collaborative investigative process and asserting their commitment to holding offenders accountable.
