
Yesterday, a report of gunfire brought Contra Costa County's Muir Station deputies to a Bay Point neighborhood where a tragic scene unfolded. According to a social media post by the Contra Costa Sheriff's Office, deputies answered a call around 1:02 AM involving 'shots-fired' on Harbor Dr.
Upon their arrival, they discovered an individual in front of a residence, struck by bullets, in the throes of critical injury. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by the deputies and later by fire department personnel and an ambulance crew, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased has not been released at the time as the investigation continues to delve into the circumstances surrounding this event.
Homicide detectives and crime lab specialists from the Sheriff's Office have collected evidence and pieced together the events that led to this moment.
