The City of Coral Springs is set to mark its 62nd anniversary with a community celebration at the Museum of Coral Springs History, located at 10250 NW 29 Street, this Thursday, July 10. The city's history of growth and family-friendly values will take center stage from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., as reported by an announcement from the city's newsletter.
The public is invited to partake in the festivities, which will include historical exhibits showcasing six decades of Coral Springs' evolution, free goodie bags for children, and a variety of snacks and refreshments. City Historian Cristina Fairhurst and the members of the Historical Advisory Committee will be present to delve into the city’s rich past, and attendees will have the opportunity to engage with interactive activities.
“Our city’s birthday is one of many opportunities for our community to come together, reflect on our city’s unique history and look ahead to what the future holds,” Commissioner Joe McHugh, the liaison of the Historical Advisory Committee, expressed enthusiasm for the occasion. The city's storied development from part of the Everglades wilderness into a contemporary urban area is encapsulated in key landmarks such as the Covered Bridge, constructed in 1964, and cultural hubs like the Coral Springs Center for the Arts and Coral Square Mall, as per the City of Coral Springs.
Established officially on July 10, 1963, after Coral RidgeProperties acquired the land two years earlier, Coral Springs has managed to sustain its reputation for livability and innovation. The event requires no registration, and for more information, the city encourages all to visit their website.
