The scorching sun has its eyes set squarely on Dallas this week, where residents can anticipate a stretch of clear skies and rising temperatures. According to a forecast from the National Weather Service, today's weather in Dallas is predicted to be mostly sunny with a high near 97 degrees, and there's an expectation for heat index values to soar as high as 103. This warm weather is riding in on a South wind, cruising around 10 mph, which could see gusts hitting up to 20 mph.
Tonight, the city won't be getting much respite from the warmth; the low is forecast to hover around 79 degrees while the South wind continues its journey at a gentle 5 to 10 mph Monday promises more of the same with sunny skies and a high near 99, and heat index values that could potentially peak at 107, and there's little in the way of wind to cut through the heat with the South wind maintaining its pace at a mild 5 to 10 mph as the sun heads to rest, Monday night it will remain clear with a predicted low of around 78 degrees, offering a slight, but likely insufficient, cooling for the inhabitants.
The rest of the week doesn't offer much of a break from the intense heat wave Dallas finds itself surfing; Tuesday's temperatures will aim for a high near 101, only to be outdone by Wednesday's forecast of 102 degrees, the calm wind shifting southward in the afternoon around 5 mph does little to mitigate the sweltering temperatures that are poised to continue through Thursday, where it's expected to hit an oppressive high near 103 degrees before offering a nighttime low around 79.
As the week draws on, Friday shows a glimmer of change with the forecast introducing a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms though still, it will remain mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 99 degrees, and the same slight chance of precipitation carries through to Friday night with a low around 78 expected, the weekend still holds onto a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, and whether or not these will provide a respite from the consistent heat remains to be seen, but the high for Saturday is predicted to be a slightly cooler 96 degrees.
