
Police are investigating a deadly shooting that took place near the Swann Nature Preserve in southeast Atlanta. The incident occurred around midnight on the 2200 block of Baywood Drive SE. At the scene, law enforcement set up crime scene tape and placed at least 20 evidence markers, though details surrounding the shooting are still scarce, as FOX 5 Atlanta reported.
In a separate but potentially related incident, Atlanta News First reported that a 66-year-old man was found dead after being shot multiple times in a home on the same block of Baywood Drive SE; this happened a short time after midnight yesterday, the police were notified and arrived quickly but the man was taken to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries there.
The identity of the victim in the initial shooting has not been disclosed, and authorities have not yet identified any suspects or provided details about what may have led to the fatal incident. Investigations in both cases remain ongoing as officials work to piece together the circumstances surrounding the violence.
