A motorcycle accident unfolded in Dearborn on Monday evening as a 56-year-old Dearborn Heights man lost his life after his motorcycle collided with a building. The incident occurred in the 23000 block of Carlysle Street at approximately 8:36 p.m., as reported by CBS News Detroit. Police indicated that the man was attempting to park when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck the east door of a nearby business establishment.
Upon their arrival, first responders found the man critically injured and unresponsive. Bystanders had already begun to desperately try and render life-saving measures. Despite the prompt actions of onlookers and first responders, the victim was declared dead at the hospital due to his incurred injuries. According to witnesses, he was seen accelerating at a high rate of speed before losing control, as mentioned by ClickOnDetroit. The police have confirmed that no other vehicles were implicated in the accident.
Officials at the scene reported that the individual was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The Dearborn Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. The name of the deceased has not yet been released publicly as the investigation continues.
