Drivers in Destrehan should prepare for minor disruptions as local road construction and asphalt resurfacing work are underway. The Ormond Center Court is currently blocked from 150 Ormond Center Court, near Rotolo's Pizza, to 3001 Ormond Blvd by Buddy's Frostop. Detours are in place to navigate around the construction areas, ensuring that the traffic continues to flow despite the inconveniences.

According to an announcement on the St. Charles Parish website, the St. Charles Parish Road Maintenance Program has commenced its summer resurfacing project to improve road conditions through patching, milling, and overlay work. Residents and commuters are advised to be mindful of the following roadworks schedule during the next two weeks for a smoother travel experience.

Barriere Construction will focus their efforts on Schexnaydre Lane between LA 48 and the dead end from July 7 to Thursday, July 10, where milling will take place with flaggers onsite to direct traffic. The same roadway will undergo additional work on Friday, July 11, with flaggers in place to facilitate traffic movement.

The week's construction will extend to Vans Lane, between LA 48 and the dead end in Destrehan. It will experience a full closure from tomorrow, July 9 through Friday, July 11, for milling work, which will not permit emergency vehicles to pass. Additionally, Fifth Street between Norco Street and the dead end in Norco is scheduled for paving on Friday, July 11, and again on Saturday, July 12, as the resurfacing program continues its progress.

No state road closures have been reported at this time.
