
An employee of the Doral Inn & Suites Miami Airport West was the victim of a violent attack yesterday morning, when a yet-to-be-identified assailant struck her on the head with the butt of a knife. Officers from the Doral Police Department alongside firefighters responded to the scene at the hotel located at 1212 NW 82nd Ave. shortly after the incident occurred just past 11:30 a.m., according to a report from Local 10 News.
The attack left the hotel room splattered with blood, and photographs provided by a viewer of Local 10 News depicted the aftermath with the victim's head enwrapped in bandages, the worker was described as "alert" while being dispatched to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital as a trauma patient, this according to Doral Police Department Deputy Chief Alicia Neal's statement acquired by Local 10 News.
The Doral Inn & Suites operates with a dual purpose, serving both overnight guests and long-term residents. Approximately half of the rooms are allocated for hotel use, while the remaining rooms house tenants on a more permanent basis. Requests for comment from hotel management were declined.
Florida authorities are continuing to investigate the assault, with the Doral Police yet to report any arrests or establish a motive surrounding the unsettling event, according to an Instagram post.
