An incident in Miami has led to the arrest of a Doral man. Daysnel Hernandez, 41, stands accused of sexually assaulting a 28-year-old woman after first striking her with a rock and subsequently threatening her with a screwdriver. The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office disclosed these details, mentioning the attack occurred last Thursday around 10:30 a.m. by an underpass located at 777 NW 72nd Ave., as per a report from Local10.

According to deputies, the victim explained she was exiting her vehicle in a nearby parking lot when Hernandez struck her. The arrest report, which NBC Miami had access to, detailed Hernandez's subsequent actions, where he reportedly "placed a screwdriver on the victim's neck and dragged her to an empty area." In this isolated spot, reports say he sexually assaulted the victim after hitting her several times with his fists and while still armed with the screwdriver. The victim, amid fear for her life, pleaded with Hernandez not to kill her before he fled the area on foot.

Following the attack, the woman suffered from multiple injuries, including lacerations, abrasions, and contusions. Initially detained by Doral Police for a separate incident, Hernandez was taken over by Miami-Dade County officials once the details of the assault came to light. He eventually confessed to "rapping" the victim, as reported by NBC Miami, which has further substantiated the severity of the charges he now faces.

Hernandez has since been transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where he is being held on charges that include sexual battery with a deadly weapon causing injury, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and kidnapping while committing aggravated battery with a weapon.

Additionally, records show he faces separate charges for burglary with assault or battery, and second-degree attempted murder in an unrelated case, Local10 reported.
