After a lengthy investigation, an arrest has been made in connection with a 2021 homicide in Roxbury. A Boston Police Fugitive Unit apprehended 46-year-old Marc Lamothe of Dorchester yesterday afternoon. This development comes nearly four years after the incident took place.
Lamothe is facing charges related to the fatal shooting of 29-year-old Joshua Smith that occurred on July 5, 2021, near 122 Seaver Street. Smith was found by officers with multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene by Boston EMS. Almost four years of ongoing investigation led by the Boston Police Homicide Unit, culminated in a Suffolk County Grand Jury indictment on June 27, charging Lamothe with murder.
The arrest, which happened in the vicinity of 555 Hyde Park Avenue, has set the stage for Lamothe's forthcoming arraignment. According to details from a Boston Police statement, he is expected to face charges including murder and unlawful possession of a firearm, on a second offense.
