Eight children were taken for medical evaluation after experiencing non-life-threatening emergencies during a choir concert at St. Paul Parish in Cambridge, Massachusetts, reported NBC Boston. The Cambridge Fire Department was called in around 7:30 p.m. yesterday to the event, which was attended by approximately 70 other individuals who were not affected.
The hazmat team from the fire department conducted a thorough search to ensure the safety of the premises. Although the situation required a hazmat response, no hazardous conditions were discovered according to the Cambridge MA Fire Department's social media post. The area was then ventilated as a precaution. The exact cause of the medical emergencies has not to been made clear.
The concert featured a French children's choir and was hosted at the church near Harvard Square. All the children affected by the incident were swiftly taken to hospitals to undergo further assessment, as per NBC Boston.
