In a late-night chase through the residential streets of Far East El Paso, a DWI suspect was arrested after initially eluding authorities, confirmed the El Paso County Sheriff's Office. At around 3:30 a.m. on July 26, attempts were made to pull over a speeding 2021 Honda Civic, which had blown through a stop sign at the intersection of Pellicano Drive and Darrington Road. Despite the flashing lights and sirens signaling for compliance, the driver, instead, chose to race off, leading to a pursuit by the East Montana Patrol deputies.

Abandoning the direct chase strategy, the deputies managed to locate the suspect's vehicle, which was carefully hidden between two sizable trucks, in what appeared to be a move to dodge the law's grip. According to El Paso County Sheriff Oscar Ugarte, on a social media post, "Driving under the influence and running from law enforcement is reckless and dangerous. We have zero tolerance for it. If you break the law, we will find you, hold you accountable and take you straight to jail."

The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Joe Emilio Molinar, exhibited clear signs of intoxication upon being discovered by the law enforcement officials. He was taken into custody without further incident. Molinar now faces the consequences of his actions, including charges related to driving under the influence, evading arrest with a vehicle, and possessing a controlled substance. He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with a bond totaling $7,000.
