Six members of the El Paso Fire Department's Water Rescue Team have been activated to aid in the ongoing rescue efforts amidst severe flooding in Central Texas. A social media video, shared by the department, captured a dramatic scene wherein the team successfully rescued two individuals who were found clinging to a tree in the perilous waters of Marble Falls, as reported by KTSM.
These firefighters teamed up to work closely with other rescue agencies, following the devastating flash flooding that began July 2, which has since caused the Guadalupe River to overflow and submerge parts of the region. The action-packed rescue was termed an "incredible rescue" by the fire department's spokesperson in a video that shows how two team members from El Paso managed to safely bring back two victims to solid ground, as per KVIA.
In the aftermath of this natural disaster, community leaders and politicians have come forward to show their support for those affected. Notably, Texas Rep. Joe Moody, along with State Rep. Jared Patterson, has actively encouraged others to contribute to relief efforts. "Tragedy isn't partisan, & neither is helping our fellow Texans," Moody articulated. He further added, "There are hurts that money can't fix, but this is one part of easing what burdens we can," as obtained by the El Paso Times.
