
El Paso ISD has made its choice for the new leader of Don Haskins PK-8, selecting Lisa Lopez as the principal, a veteran in the field of education. Bringing close to three decades of experience to the table, Lopez is set to take the helm with a track record that speaks to dedication towards academic rigor, student development, and fostering a welcoming environment for all.
The district is confident in her ability to steer Don Haskins PK-8 in a promising direction. Lopez's resume includes stints as assistant principal at Coronado High School, director of principal preparation at Sul Ross State University, and various principal roles in the El Paso area. Her breadth of experience spans public and charter schools, along with involvement in higher education and medical training programs, notably as assistant director of education at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center's residency program, according to El Paso ISD.
With a Master of Education in Administration from Sul Ross State University and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Secondary Education from the University of Texas at El Paso, Lopez is decorated with a resume that echoes her commitment to the constituents of the educational realm. Her appointment aims to usher in a new era of impactful educational leadership and instructional innovation at Don Haskins PK-8.
