The Atlanta Department of Transportation has announced emergency road and lane closures in downtown Atlanta. Parts of Peachtree Street and Williams Street NW are closed for an unknown period due to safety concerns and inspection and repair work at 134 Peachtree St NW, according to the Atlanta Department of Transportation.
Sidewalk closures are in place due to the ongoing work. Pedestrians cannot access the west sidewalk on Peachtree Street just south of John Wesley Dobbs Avenue NE, or the north side of William Street NW between Forsyth Street NW and Peachtree Street. Partial access remains on the south side of William Street NW, as reported by the Atlanta Department of Transportation.
Detours are in place to redirect traffic around closed sections of Peachtree Street. Atlanta Department of Transportation's website lists alternate routes for southbound and westbound drivers using John Wesley Dobbs Ave NE, Courtland St NE, and Auburn St NW.
