
A worker was hospitalized for smoke inhalation following a conveyor belt fire at the FedEx World Hub in Memphis yesterday afternoon. The Memphis Fire Department responded to the incident at 2903 Sprankel Avenue, where they found an active fire under the conveyor belt. The fire was brought under control by 3:30 p.m., as reported by Action News 5.
The employee was transported to a local hospital for treatment following smoke exposure. The condition has not been disclosed. According to the Memphis Fire Department, no additional injuries occurred, as reported by WREG. FedEx Communications Strategic Advisor Adam Snyder expressed appreciation for the quick response by emergency personnel.
Operations at the hub have resumed. FedEx reassured customers that services will continue without interruption, noting, "We are not expecting any delays as a result of this incident, and no shipments were impacted," as per report by WREG.
