Wake Forest's Renaissance Centre is prepping its stage for a compelling presentation by an infiltrator of one of the world's most notorious terror groups, Al Qaeda. Tamer Elnoury, a former undercover FBI operative whose clandestine work is amongst the most impactful in American history, is slated to speak about his experiences on September 11. This date, forever etched in collective memory for the terrorist attacks of 2001, will see Elnoury sharing insights from his book, "American Radical: Inside the World of an Undercover Muslim FBI Agent," which recounts his treacherous but crucial journey within the terrorist organization, according to the Town of Wake Forest's announcement.
The presentation, as reported by Wake Forest's official news site, will occur in two sessions. The first, exclusively for first responders, beings at noon and will be offered at no charge. It's a gesture of gratitude towards those who risk their lives, which seems to clearly echo the significance of the day it takes place. Admission will be granted on a first come, first served basis, so attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure their spots.
Elnoury's evening session, starting at 7:30 p.m., extends the invitation to the general public. Those interested in gaining deeper insight into the work of an operative who has penetrated Al Qaeda so deeply are welcome to join, with tickets priced at $20 each. It’s an opportunity rarely provided to such a wide audience, giving attendees a peek into the covert actions that protect national security. Those looking to attend can make their purchase starting Aug. 26, at 10 a.m., with multiple avenues outlined for convenience including online, in person, or over the phone.
For those with an extra keen interest, special early-bird ticket access is being given to Patrons of the Centre starting Aug. 19, and Friends of the Centre can begin to snag theirs the following day. As exclusive access to such high-caliber events can often quickly sell out, this period will undeniably be one eagerly to take advantage of by supporters of the Centre. Tickets are available through the Centre's website, the RC Box Office, or by dialing 919-435-9458 for a more personalized transaction.
