A family’s visit to a gas station yesterday morning turned violent when two armed men fired shots in an incident police are classifying as aggravated assault. The Memphis Police Department reported the incident occurred at the Lion Mart located at 4691 Horn Lake Road. The shooting took place at approximately 2:39 a.m., targeting a juvenile and his family.
Surveillance footage from the gas station captured images of the two suspects, both described as Black males. One suspect, with short dreads and dressed in a black hoodie with white writing paired with black pants, wielded a black semi-automatic firearm. His accomplice, also wielding a similar weapon, sported a short haircut and a hoodie embossed with the number 5 in white on the back. After the assault, both perpetrators fled the scene on foot.
The condition of the juvenile and his family has not been released. The Memphis Police Department is seeking information to identify and locate the suspects. Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
