
Stacy Saltzburg, Flagstaff’s City Clerk since 2018, has just been named the Clerk of the Year by the Arizona Municipal Clerks’ Association, as reported by the city's official news release. The prestigious title is awarded to the clerk who has most significantly advanced municipal governance and contributed to their community. Saltzburg's recognition arrives as a testament to her tireless efforts and innovative endeavors in local government.
During her tenure, Saltzburg has not only managed to successfully earn her Master of Public Administration from Northern Arizona University in 2021 but also went on to receive the 2023 NAU MPA Public Service Alumni Award. This honor singled out her dedication to public service, a quality that Saltzburg has consistently displayed through her work. She has proven to effectively lead significant projects, such as securing voter approval for City Charter Amendments and implementing hybrid City Council meetings to ensure broader accessibility—a move that has profoundly changed Flagstaff's approach to civic engagement.
Further extending her influence beyond the chambers of the city council, Saltzburg serves as Clerk for the Flagstaff Downtown Business Improvement and Revitalization District. Her commitment to excellence in her field was recently acknowledged when she was named an Athenian Fellow by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.
