A former deputy of the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, Terry McAdams, has been arrested on charges including family violence and cruelty to children, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced. McAdams, 36, was taken into custody after a call for help from the Sheriff's Office to the GBI concerning a domestic incident during which a firearm was discharged while a child was present.
The specific charges against the Dallas, GA resident include Battery, in violation of the Family Violence Act, and second-degree Cruelty to Children, as well as Reckless Conduct. The arrest occurred last Wednesday and has led to McAdams being booked into the Paulding County Adult Detention Center, although he is currently being housed at a different location, the GBI's press release detailed.
This case remains open and the GBI is actively continuing its investigation. They are urging the public to come forward with any relevant information, offering an anonymous tip line at 1-800-597-TIPS (8477) and an online submission portal at their official website.
