The much-anticipated mural at Fountain Park, which has been in the works to add more artistic charm to the community, is now complete. Local officials and art enthusiasts gathered as the town of Fountain Hills proudly unveiled the new vibrant mural near the Veterans' Memorial. The artwork, shaped by the talented hands of muralist Laura Thurbon, stands out with its unique "greeting card" concept that encapsulates the essence of the Arizona landscape, according to Fountain Hills.
Thurbon's creation was chosen from a pool of artists who submitted their visions for the space; her design sets itself apart by blending the local desert scenery with a distinct artistic touch. According to a Fountain Hills press release, the mural now serves as an eye-catching photo opportunity for visitors and a symbol of community pride, with the renowned fountain forming a picturesque backdrop. Residents and those passing through the park are encouraged to capture their moments with the mural with a snapshot – and if they feel like shouting it out to the digital world, to use the hashtag #ExperienceFountainHills.
"Fountain Hills is proud to unveil a vibrant new mural by artist Laura Thurbon," Fountain Hills Economic Development Director Amanda Jacobs expressed. Her enthusiasm reflects the intended impact of the mural — to welcome thousands of visitors to one of the pristine settings in Fountain Hills while enriching the cultural fabric of the downtown area with public art.
