Six individuals, including four teenagers, have been arrested and charged with various offenses related to the May shooting that resulted in the death of 21-year-old Kimberl Gedeon in New Bedford, setting a somber tone as the community grapples with the implications of such a tragedy, The Boston Globe reported.
Authorities have pieced together the chain of events leading up to the shooting that unfolded on the night of May 26 near Bedford and South Seventh streets, where the young man suffered multiple gunshot wounds and later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital, all six suspects are scheduled to face their respective charges in a courtroom, with proceedings that began on Thursday and are set to continue through August as per the Bristol District Attorney's Office.
In this cast of accused individuals, 17-year-old Dariell Encarnacion Couvertier, 18-year-old Elias Ramos, and 33-year-old William Allen Robinson, all hailing from Fall River, have been charged with murder; meanwhile, 30-year-old Ahkari Jones, also tagged in the case as an accessory after the fact to murder, has been arrested and his bail set at $100,000 cash, this individual also happens to be held without bail for being a bail violator on another case, according to a statement obtained by TurnTo10.
Furthermore, two 19-year-olds, Nezziah Davis and Keyshla Martinez Matta, are charged with assault and battery by discharge of a firearm and carrying a firearm without a license, Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn remarked on the collective efforts of the involved law enforcement bodies, stating, "The charges resulted from a criminal investigation that involved homicide prosecutors from the Bristol County District Attorney's Office, Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office, New Bedford Police and Fall River Police," underscoring the gravity and breadth of the investigative work that led to these charges, as per TurnTo10.
