The 17-year-old boy was apprehended late Friday evening in an apartment on the 5900 block of Park Court SE, where police also seized a loaded handgun. This latest development follows the initial arrest of three suspects on the night of the incident, as reported by KOIN.
Salem Police first responded to reports of shots fired near the fast-food restaurant located at 5090 Commercial Street SE, close to 10:30 p.m. that night. Officers found vehicles fleeing the scene, stopped one such vehicle, and seized a 9mm handgun inside, along with the detention of its three occupants. "Multiple spent shell casings" were discovered at the location, as stated by KPTV. Despite the severity of the altercation, no injuries or significant property damage were reported.
The individuals apprehended on June 30 were 20-year-old Rubi Zambrano, 18-year-old Dakoda Clark-Adkins, and a 15-year-old, each facing various charges. The Salem Police Department noted that Zambrano and Clark-Adkins were taken to jail, while the minor was released to a parent.
The fourth and most recent suspect is being held at the Marion County Juvenile Detention Center, facing charges including "first-degree attempted assault, unlawful use of a weapon, reckless endangering and unlawful possession of a firearm," as outlined by KPTV. Authorities continue to investigate the incident and are urging anyone with information or who may have sustained unreported property damage to come forward.
