The Fremont Fire Department is investigating the cause of a 2-alarm house fire on Lake Oneida Street yesterday. According to a social media post by the department, the fire broke out at around 11:24 PM, resulting in injuries to one adult resident. The individual was home alone at the time and was hurt while trying to put out the fire before firefighters arrived on the scene. Their efforts were described as an attempt to extinguish the fire prior to the arrival of firefighters. While they sustained non-life threatening injuries, the full extent and nature of those injuries have not been disclosed.
Firefighters conducted an "aggressive interior and exterior fire attack" to contain the blaze, which was threatening to spread to adjacent buildings. This quick action managed to limit the fire's extension to just the corner of a nearby residence. Nevertheless, the incident still caused significant disruption, with two adults and two children from two separate homes being forced to temporarily leave their homes due to the damage and danger posed by the fire.
Images and further information about the incident can be found on the Fremont Fire Department's official Facebook page, where the fire service has been updating the public and sharing details of their ongoing investigation.
