The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is conducting an inquiry into the death of 38-year-old Norcross resident Phat Tan Bui, following a discovery by Towns County deputies. Last Saturday evening, Bui's abandoned van was found at the parking area of Bell Mountain. According to the GBI's release, Bui had been reported missing by his family the day before, last Friday.
The initial investigation by the local authorities did not suggest any signs of foul play in connection to Bui's death, found inside his vehicle. Following the protocol after such a find, the deceased was transported to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy that could provide a better understanding of the cause of death.
This ongoing case has spawned several lines of inquiry, from potential health crises to other causes that could have led to Bui's untimely demise. The GBI actively solicits the public for tips and information that might shine a light on this event. "Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Towns County Sheriff’s Office at 706-896-4444 or the GBI Regional Investigative Office in Perry, GA at 478-987-4545," they said, as noted by the GBI official statement.
