The Georgia State Patrol is actively seeking assistance from the public in solving a hit-and-run case that claimed the life of Ty'leal Glaser, a 16-year-old from Hampton. The teenage boy was struck and killed while crossing GA 81 in McDonough on the evening of June 21. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, Glaser was hit at approximately 9:45 p.m. near Sons Drive, on a stretch of road without a crosswalk. Investigators have been combing through evidence, including a headlight fixture and other car debris left at the scene by the fleeing driver.
Authorities believe that the vehicle involved in the incident is a Toyota RAV4, based on the evidence gathered, including a significant fragment from the left headlight assembly. As reported by 11Alive, there may be additional damage to the driver's side of the car. The Georgia State Patrol's Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is reviewing video footage from the area to aid in their investigation.
With this ongoing investigation, GSP is urging anyone who may have been in the vicinity of GA 81 near Sons Drive at the time of the crash to reach out. Information could be critical to locating the driver responsible for this fatal incident.
