In a recent update from the Gilroy Police Department, posted on their social media, a group of juvenile suspects has been apprehended in connection with a violent robbery that left two victims seriously injured. The incident, which took place on April 13, unfolded around 4:45 PM near Monterey Street and Old Gilroy Street, where the victims were attacked while trying to defend their possessions. The suspects, believed to be armed and tied to local gang activity, had fled the scene before police arrived.
Details surrounding the case, as shared in a statement by the Gilroy Police Department, reveal that their Anti-Crime Team moved swiftly in investigating the crime, identifying the suspected juveniles. Armed with weapons during the robbery, these suspects are now linked to a neighborhood criminal street gang and, as of last Thursday, have been taken into custody. They are facing charges for assault with a deadly weapon and robbery and are currently being held at Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall.
The Gilroy Police Department provides further information on the case, though the juveniles' identities have been withheld due to their age.
