In Goodlettsville, a city intent on streamlining its approach to governance and improving service delivery, an organizational overhaul has been announced. This comes after a two-year period of comprehensive operational evaluation, according to a statement from the City of Goodlettsville's manager.
City of Goodlettsville Manager Tim Ellis remarked in a Facebook post, "The mission of the City of Goodlettsville is to operate with efficiency and integrity in all we do, as we strive to enhance the quality of life for the community we serve." The restructuring culminated with the merging of the Parks and Recreation Department and the Public Works Department into the Department of Public Services, effective June 30. Sarah Jennings has been appointed as the Senior Director, with Jack Presley as her assistant.
The revamping extends to the city's Wastewater Division, which now stands independently as the Wastewater Department. Overseeing this division will be Jeff McCormick, who assumes the role of Director of Wastewater Utilities. His responsibilities include managing daily operations and ensuring the department adheres to regulatory standards, as reported by the City of Goodlettsville.
Furthermore, Goodlettsville has merged its Codes Department with the Planning Department, creating the Department of Community Development to streamline city services. This new department encompasses Planning & Zoning, Building Codes, Property Maintenance, Stormwater & GIS, Capital Programs, and Economic Development. The City of Goodlettsville, under the leadership of Addam McCormick as the Senior Director of Community Development, aims to deliver services that align more closely with the community's ever-changing demands.
While playing the long game of improvement and adaptation, Goodlettsville continues to pledge its dedication to continuous enhancement of city services to meet the evolving wants, and needs of its citizens and businesses. The structural changes are part of the larger commitment by the City of Goodlettsville government to prioritize efficiency and improve the living standards for its residents.
