The City of Goodlettsville has flung open the doors of its City Hall to welcome the first in a new series of community art exhibits. Art enthusiasts and curious locals are now able to witness the collective creative pulse of the region, as City Hall transforms, temporarily, into a gallery space.
With the exhibits open free to the public throughout July, visitors can peruse the diverse artwork assortment from Monday through Friday. The eclectic mix hails from the hands and imaginations of local artists and art students from the Artists on Main Painting Society, you won’t just find a splash of color or a dash of whimsy you’ll find an entire spectrum, and no two visits may feel the same with new pieces set to rotate in regularly casting a new light, a new shadow, on the walls of the municipal building with each changeover.
"We are excited to open City Hall to the arts," Maggie Howard, City of Goodlettsville summer intern and program coordinator, told the city's official website. This initiative swings into action as part of the City's broader Project ‘072 meant to stitch the arts more firmly into the fabric of the local community.
The initiative beckons the public to become a part of the artistic narrative of Goodlettsville, with information about how to contribute as a future exhibiting artist just an email away, at [email protected].
