
A tragic incident shook the community of Griffin as a 37-year-old woman was found dead, the tragic consequence of a stabbing on Elles Way. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the Griffin Police Department was dispatched following a report of the incident on Monday afternoon. Upon arrival, police discovered the woman with multiple stab wounds and despite efforts from the Griffin Fire and Spalding Regional EMS, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The department has since taken a suspect into custody at the same location where the stabbing occurred. The identity of the suspect is yet to be released as the investigation by the department’s Criminal Investigations Division continues. In a statement obtained by FOX 5 Atlanta, the police thanked local residents for their support and involvement in efforts to keep the community safe.
As the Griffin community grapples with this violent episode, authorities have not provided specifics on what may have led to the deadly confrontation. Atlanta News First has reported that the identity of both the victim and the suspect remain undisclosed as investigation is ongoing.
