Hollywood is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a series of events that have already drawn over 70,000 people. The Centennial Celebration includes cultural showcases and historic tributes, blending memories of the past with a look toward the future. The city is fully in party mode as the festivities continue, according to the City of Hollywood announcement.
The return of the annual Party on the J was a success, led by Memorial Healthcare System. The event made a strong comeback on Johnson Street, offering live music and a relaxed, community-focused atmosphere. As covered earlier, Mayor Levy expressed his excitement on CBS4.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Salsa Fest pulled out all the stops, with community members dancing to lively beats and enjoying a vibrant showcase of Latin culture, making it one of Hollywood's most energetic events yet. At the same time, the Centennial Star-Spangled Spectacular drew thousands to Hollywood Beach for a fireworks display that honored both Independence Day and the city’s 100th anniversary, as detailed by the city's official website.
And the celebration is far from over. Hollywood’s Centennial festivities are moving full steam ahead, with more events planned to attract even larger crowds. Upcoming highlights include the “Art in the Atrium” crafts fair at City Hall and the festive “Candy Cane Parade and Concert” on Hollywood Beach. Capping it all off will be a major four-day celebration at ArtsPark in November, featuring a headline concert, the city’s Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony, and a host of other activities. Sponsorship is also ramping up, with companies like Moss & Associates and Boucher Brothers joining Memorial Healthcare System in supporting the celebration.
