Authorities are appealing to the public for help in apprehending two suspects involved in a grocery store robbery and subsequent assault on a security guard in Houston. In a statement released by the Houston Police Department's Robbery Division, the incident occurred late in the evening on June 17, when a male and female duo executed a theft at a store situated on the 200 block of W. 20th Street.

After filling their cart with merchandise and trying to leave without paying, an employee who attempted to intervene was met with physical violence before the suspects fled in a maroon Nissan sedan.

The male suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 5’8 to 5’10 in height, wearing a red shirt and dark shorts. His accomplice, a Black female, is around 5’4, and was seen wearing a black shirt and black shorts. They were last seen driving a newer model maroon Nissan Altima or Maxima.
