Authorities are on the lookout for three male suspects following an early morning robbery at a South Houston convenience store on May 21. According to a report by the Houston Police, the incident took place around 5:20 am when a man, seemingly a customer, entered the store at the 6900 block of Bellfort and engaged the clerk with a question about shirts, which made the clerk exit his secure area.
The distraction allowed two other armed suspects to enter. As the clerk tried to retreat to the secure area, he was attacked and forcibly prevented from closing the door, after which the money was taken from the safe. The suspects escaped in a silver sedan that was waiting in the parking lot.
The first suspect is described as a Black male wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and black shoes, while the second suspect also wore a black hoodie but with black shorts and black shoes, and the third was in a plaid shirt paired with black pants. Details of the suspects' appearance have been made available in hopes that members of the public might come forward with any relevant information.
Crime Stoppers of Houston is urging anyone who might have useful knowledge about the incident to reach out directly and is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the charging and/or arrest of the suspects. However, it must be noted that to remain anonymous and be eligible for the cash payment, tipsters are required to provide their insights exclusively through Crime Stoppers by dialing 713-222-TIPS (8477), or through their website or mobile app.
