Early Tuesday morning, a woman was found dead in her apartment in the Rolando neighborhood, prompting an investigation by the San Diego Police Department. As per the department's press release, a 911 call at approximately 1:37 AM alerted officers to the situation, leading to the discovery of the deceased woman at an apartment located at 4333 College Avenue.
The woman's husband called, reporting that his wife had suddenly fallen and was not responding. Officers and medics who arrived on the scene found the husband attempting to resuscitate his wife through CPR, but tragically, she was pronounced dead. Notably, the woman, identified only as a 37-year-old white female, had minor injuries that sparked additional concern. The homicide unit has, therefore, been brought in to investigate the circumstances behind her death thoroughly.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the husband has been cooperative, staying on scene and engaging with law enforcement as they proceed with inquiries. At this stage, her identity has not been released as officials work to notify her next of kin.
Investigators are expected to be actively working in the area throughout the day, piecing together what occurred in the apartment. The police are urging anyone with information related to the incident to swiftly come forward and contact the Homicide Unit at (619) 531-2293 or, to remain anonymous, reach out to Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477. The community's assistance can often prove pivotal in solving such cases.
