Amidst the revelry of Independence Day weekend, the Campbell County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) was making headlines of a different sort – a narcotics crackdown in Jellico, Tennessee. A post published on the CCSO's official Facebook page detailed a successful search warrant execution at Magnolia Terrace A Towers, which led to the seizure of controlled substances and the arrest of two individuals, Danny Lancaster and Chasity Malicoat.
The operation, conducted on July 3, resulted in officers recovering an array of drugs, including those classified as Schedule I, II, and VI, alongside felony drug paraphernalia, from a residence nestled within the locality of 5th Street, confirmed the Campbell County Sheriff's Office in a social media statement. Lancaster, 58, faced multiple charges including felony possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of Schedule II and VI controlled substances, creating or dealing drugs within a drug-free school zone, not to mention the manufacture, sale, or delivery, of a Schedule I controlled substance. Malicoat, 44, was charged with similar offenses, with the additional burden of a probation violation. In the wake of their arrests, both were transported to the Campbell County Jail.
Sheriff Barton bestowed commendation upon his CCSO team for executing the operation seamlessly, a sentiment reflected in the sheriff's office's statement: "Sheriff Barton commends members of CCSO on the successful execution of a search warrant."
