Johnson City has earned a spot on the Tennessee Fire Chiefs Association (TFCA) Board of Directors, with JCFD Chief David Bell stepping up to represent the Eastern Region after being elected at the recent Southeastern Association of Fire Chiefs/TFCA Leadership Conference in Franklin, according to a press release from the city of Johnson City. Chief Bell's election spotlights his leadership within the fire service community and his expected contribution to enhance public safety measures and professional growth for firefighters throughout Tennessee.
Chief Bell's new role on the TFCA Board which holds the responsibility not only for policy development but also advancing the skillset and preparedness of fire professionals, and focusing on modernization initiatives, was met with favorable commentary from City Manager Cathy Ball who stated, per Johnson City, "We're honored to have Chief Bell represent the Johnson City Fire Department and the Eastern Region at the state level." "His leadership and experience will be a great asset to the association and to fire departments spanning the state," Ball also said in her acknowledgement of Bell's capabilities and dual roles he is expected to juggle efficiently.
