The Knoxville Police Department is seeking information from the public following an incident where shots were reportedly fired from a vehicle on I-40 East near Strawberry Plains Pike. According to WATE, the altercation occurred around 10:50 a.m. yesterday when an occupant of a silver Nissan SUV allegedly opened fire at another unidentified vehicle.
KPD officers arrived at the scene and discovered multiple shell casings; however, there have been no known gunshot victims reported last night. The SUV was seen heading north on Strawberry Plains Pike while the other vehicle took off south, as detailed by WBIR. Authorities have yet to identify either vehicles involved in the altercation.
The Knoxville Police Department has turned to the community for assistance, urging anyone with information related to the shooting to contact East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers. Anonymity is assured for tipsters, who may also be eligible for a cash reward.
