Tragedy struck early Saturday morning when a motorcycle passenger was killed in a collision on Northshore Drive in Knoxville, as the Knoxville Police Department investigates the fatal incident. WVLT reported that the crash occurred at approximately 1:15 a.m. near the intersection of S. Northshore Drive and Wilda Place, involving a Dodge Durango and a motorcycle.
The collision claimed the life of an adult woman who was riding as a passenger on the motorcycle. She died at the scene, and the driver of the bike has been taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to WATE. The Knoxville Police Department has its crash reconstruction personnel leading the investigation, as they work diligently in an attempt to piece together the circumstances that led to this tragedy.
Further details were shared by WBIR, confirming that both vehicles were travelling south on Northshore Drive when they collided. KPD says that there were two people on the motorcycle at the time of the accident.
Knoxville Police has not yet released the identities of the individuals involved whilst the investigation continues.
