Mark your calendars, Lawtonians: Mayor Stan Booker is set to deliver the annual State of the City address later this summer. According to the city's official announcement, locals can hear firsthand about the city's initiatives and progress during the Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce’s State of the City Luncheon. The event is scheduled for August 22, 2025, at the FISTA Innovation Park and will kick off at 11 a.m. with the doors opening followed by lunch at 11:30 a.m. The program itself begins at 11:45 a.m.
This year is all about the young ones, with "KidsFirst" as the driving theme of the address, speaking to the City’s intention to prioritize the future and well-being of the children—and by extension, that of the entire community. In line with this focus, students from Lawton Public Schools will be presenting their STEM projects around the venue, giving attendees an up-close look at the kind of ingenuity and creativity that's being cultivated in the local schools. Such an opportunity will allow community members to witness and celebrate the educational strides being made right in their backyard.
Interested in attending? Tickets are on sale now and can be snagged at $25 each for Chamber members, while non-members can grab theirs for $35, a payment that’s required upon registration. There's also an option for those who'd like to skip the meal but still soak in the insights of Mayor Booker's address. A section of open seating will be available in the back for attendees not purchasing lunch.
