Earlier this month, a quiet Livermore street turned into a crime scene following a drive-by shooting, and the suspect is now behind bars. In a post shared on their official Facebook page, the Livermore Police Department reported the arrest of 25-year-old Jesus Andrade in connection with the violent incident that left one person injured. Andrade, a Livermore resident himself, was taken into custody without incident last Tuesday as he exited his home.
As the case unfolded, detectives from the Criminal Investigations Bureau capitalized on leads that eventually pinpointed the suspect vehicle. This police work culminated in the apprehension of Andrade, who was linked to the shooting through pieces of evidence gathered during their meticulous investigation. The charges laid out against him include shooting from a vehicle and assault with a firearm, and according to the department's Facebook update, the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has moved forward and filed formal charges.
The incident occurred on July 5, just before 2 AM, on the 300 block of Chestnut Street. Police arriving at the scene discovered a 27-year-old local man suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers administered emergency medical assistance to the victim, who was then rushed to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Fortunately, the victim has been released and is currently recovering. The shooting is suspected to be gang-related, investigators have revealed.
