In Livermore, a chase scene unfolded on the city streets that seemed like something out of a less dramatic police procedural when a patrol officer identified a 19-year-old male suspect wanted on a grave charge. Livermore Police Department reports that last Saturday, a routine patrol near Pine Street and Rincon Avenue led to the arrest of Adan Parra-Ruiz, a Livermore resident with an active Ramey arrest warrant for attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon, linked to a stabbing occurrence last year.
Upon spotting the officer, Parra-Ruiz decided to make a swift getaway on a bicycle. Authorities say that quick coordination allowed them to establish a containment perimeter, and with officers swarming the area, the suspect's freedom was short-lived. Parra-Ruiz's attempt at evasion escalated the incident to a pursuit on two wheels through the suburban streets. The capture was a result of a disciplined containment effort.
After a diligent search, law enforcement personnel located Parra-Ruiz on Chestnut Street. He surrendered to authorities there without further incident.
