In the pre-dawn hours, Loudon County was disrupted by the sound of sirens and gunfire. As reported via a social media post from the Loudon County Sheriff's Office, their deputies joined forces with the Knox County Sheriff's Office in a high-speed pursuit of a white Jeep wanted in connection with robbery charges. The chase, which began around 2:00 a.m., veered into Loudon County on Highway 70, where the drama escalated with shots fired.
The rapid chase streamed ahead, spilling into Lenoir City, the Jeep making a hard turn onto Highway 321, and in the process, it rammed into a Lenoir City Police Department patrol vehicle. In response, deputies quickly executed a PIT maneuver, yet the pursuit persisted until authorities finally managed to box in the suspect vehicle. According to the post from Loudon County Sheriff’s Office, despite the tense episode, the arrest was made without injury to law enforcement, the suspect, or civilians.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol took over at the crash scene, handling the aftermath of the collision. The fortuitous outcome left no one harmed, a fact the Loudon County Sheriff's Office expressed gratitude for in their announcement, praising the collaboration between the multiple law enforcement agencies that contributed to the swift resolution of the incident.
