Lowell Police Department has confirmed the arrest of 26-year-old Jeremiah Constant in connection with a recent shooting in Lowell. The incident, which took place on Favor St., left an adult male victim with serious gunshot wounds. According to an official social media post by the department, the call came shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, prompting officers to rush to the South Common area where they found the victim.
Despite the efforts to quickly provide aid and the subsequent transport to a local hospital, followed by an air ambulance flight to a Boston area hospital for further treatment, the focus rapidly shifted to apprehending the suspect. Law enforcement was able to soon thereafter identify Constant as the alleged shooter, leading to his arrest on Thursday. He stands charged with Armed Assault with Intent to Murder and several other grave offenses, including Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
The Lowell Police Criminal Investigations Bureau, along with Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, worked in tandem to investigate the unfortunate event.
