
A shooting incident last Friday in the Covenant Blu/Grand Center neighborhood has critically injured a 24-year-old man. The altercation occurred around 11:40 p.m. in the 3200 block of School, escalating to a point where a 37-year-old male retrieved a firearm and shot the younger man. The incident evidently stemmed from a dispute between two individuals known to each other, as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
The 24-year-old victim attempted to flee the scene in his vehicle but later crashed near the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King and Glasgow. Emergency services were called, and he was transported to a local hospital for treatment. He sustained a gunshot wound to the neck and underwent surgery, leaving him in critical but stable condition. The suspected shooter remained at the scene and was taken into custody by responding officers.
Details about the disturbance that led to the incident have not yet been fully disclosed. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s District 4 is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the event.
