
The Huntington Reservoir witnessed a tragic event over the weekend as a man drowned on Sunday afternoon, with his body being recovered that evening by the Emery County Sheriff’s Office. According to KUTV, deputies located the victim's body around 7 p.m. on July 6. The efforts to retrieve the man involved a coordinated search that lasted several hours.
Following the 911 call that came through at approximately 4 p.m. the same day, search and rescue teams, including the Carbon County Dive Team, were dispatched to Huntington State Park, utilizing sonar technology to locate the drowned individual, the search on the water continued, with divers and equipment being deployed in a meticulous operation to find the victim. "Our deepest condolences go out to family and friends," expressed the Sheriff’s Office, as obtained by ABC4.
As the operation unfolded at the reservoir, Sheriff Tyson Huntington of Emery County called for public cooperation, urging people to keep clear of the area to facilitate the emergency personnel's work.
