Minneapolis Police are currently investigating a fatal shooting incident that took place on Tuesday evening, where a man in his 30s was found with a gunshot wound that cost him his life. According to a bulletin from the City of Minneapolis, officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of gunfire at approximately 6:26 p.m. on the 1500 block of 11th Avenue South.
The first responders, attempting to salvage what remained of a night marred by violence, found the victim on a home's porch and provided emergency medical aid until firefighters and paramedics took over. The man, unfortunately, was declared deceased at the scene. An altercation among individuals on the sidewalk is said to have led to the shooting, with a man firing the weapon towards the abode and fleeing prior to police arrival, as stated in the official announcement.
Chief Brian O'Hara of the Minneapolis Police addressed the ongoing investigation, stressing the importance of community cooperation. "Our investigators will do everything they can to identify the shooter in this homicide, including gathering any available video from the area," he asserted. O’Hara added that “We need anyone with information — no matter how minor it may seem — to share that information with us,” shedding light on the collective effort needed to piece together the events of that fateful evening.
